About

Nathaniel Blume is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana where he began playing trumpet at a young age. Due to his obsession with "The X-Files" growing up, he wanted to be a forensic pathologist for the FBI. However, his penchant for the dramatic focused elsewhere when he decided to forge a career in music and film. Blume has degrees in music composition from Butler University (Indianapolis) and Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh) where he studied with Michael Schelle and Leonardo Balada, respectively. He completed film scoring studies in the prestigious Scoring for Motion Picture and Television program at the University of Southern California with such composers as Christopher Young, Jack Smalley, Joel McNeely, and Eric Schmidt. Since graduating from USC, Blume has worked on a number of film and television projects. Recently, he composed the score for the documentary "Shakespeare High" which was an official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival and recognized by the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Nathaniel has also written additional music on many television programs such as "Arrow" (CW), "Blindspot" (NBC), "Resurrection" (ABC), and "The Sixties" (CNN).
